Those dedicated to study the casino games' history support the theory that BlackJack has a French origin. In France, around 1700, the Blackjack game got to the casinos under the name of “vingt-et-un”.
It's harder to think when Blackjack began to be played in the United States, because the first state to legalize it was Nevada (in 1931), but it is said that the game had been played in United States long before that.
In 1956 Roger Baldwin published an article where he commented what he thought was the best strategy to win at BlackJack, using math. All this created many big discussions leading to the casinos' resolution to change Blackjack's rules, but because of the players' protests the rules couldn't be changed.
